Ingredients

caramel (optional)
Preparation
Peel the apples and slice them. Spread the puff pastry and cut it into rectangles. Spread some caramel on the bottom and lay the apple on top. I like to add a bit of butter and sugar on top of the apple to caramelize. (You can also use egg yolks to make it shine before baking.) I usually eyeball the baking, 180°C for maybe 15-20 for these.
Note: I usually do it with a round puff pastry and spread apple puree, but it appears impossible to find in my country.
