Discover our digital magazine featuring artists from our community!
Who can participate?
Anyone is welcome to have their art featured regardless of their previous experience! The only requirement is following the guidelines (mainly avoiding explicit themes).
What's the process?
Applications are open for 2-4 weeks in January, April, July, and October, after which we will have a creation period of about a month. Then, our team designs and produces the Zine that will be published on our website and promoted on our social media.

Zine #5 - Connection
Connection is not a single thread but a constellation between many facets of our lives: the people we love, the cultures we inherit, and the quieter, stranger parts of ourselves we rarely name aloud. It resists a tidy definition because it is never one thing at a time: it is chosen and it is stumbled upon, built deliberately and left as residue by everything that touches us.
What this issue gathers is not a single vision of connection but a plurality of them, each one partial, each one true. Some found it in ceremony, others in inheritance, others in the act of observation. Taken together, they suggest that connection is less a state we arrive at than a practice we maintain.

Zine #4 - Nostalgia
There's a particular kind of light that only exists in our memory. We chase it constantly: in the smell of a specific perfume, in a song's opening chord, in the taste of a snack we haven't eaten since we were nine. Nostalgia isn't really about the past. It's about the strange, persistent ache of now, dressed up in old clothes.
This issue is our attempt to sit inside that ache for a while instead of rushing past it. Inside, you'll find artists digging through their memories and expressing those moments that come back to them.

Zine #3 - Transformation
Transformation doesn't come easy. It can be deeply personal, found in growth, loss, healing, or self discovery. It can also live beyond us, in nature, in relationships, in culture, and in the ever changing spaces we inhabit.
This issue of the Language Cafe Zine brings together a collection of works that explore transformation through many lenses. From photography that captures fleeting shifts in light and perspective, to digital illustrations that reimagine identity, emotion, and form, and all the way to hands-on practice like sewing and fineliner drawings where transformation is built line by line, stitch by stitch.

Every beginning holds a quiet spark: the moment before the page turns, the breath taken before the leap.
This issue of the Language Cafe Zine explores that spark through art, photography, poetry, and stories created by our community. Each piece reflects a different kind of beginning: the ones we choose, the ones that choose us, the ones that feel tender, exhilarating, heavy, or hopeful.
